DCTT.jpgCome join the fun as we celebrate National Trails Day and the opening of the new Deer Creek Tribute Trail! This is a family affair, so grab the kids, the dogs, mom and dad and get outside. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4th in Pioneer Park where the trail begins.

There will be information stations along the route which winds from the park, comes out by the Stonehouse, passes through Nevada City, exiting by the Miner’s Foundry to continue on towards Old Downieville Hwy, then onto the Champion Mine Ditch, with a switch back down to Deer Creek and the new bridge. There will be kid-friendly events taking place throughout the day and docents will guide you on your way, explaining about various aspects of the trail. This is an easy eight mile loop. All vehicles must be parked near Pioneer Park.

This landmark event is the culmination of years of planning and the cooperation of many entities including the Sierra Fund, Nevada Irrigation District, Bureau of Land Management, the City of Nevada City, Nevada County, and Nevada County Land Trust.
