Armchair Treks Lecture Series
If you are interested in local history and geology, stories told by local personalities, updates on local trails projects or any number of informational and educational presentations, this is the program for you.
Generally held in the community room at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City, this series is for anyone interested in learning more about our unique community. Come and have fun! No boots required.

Armchair Trek: "Stars"with Alan Stahler

Join the Land Trust for a fascinating evening with local Alan Stahler as he shares images and stories from space. Together we’ll explore the universe through the eyes of the Hubble Space Telescope, and some of its sister space observatories – beautiful images of planets and galaxies, exploding stars, and what lies at the center of the Milky Way, our home galaxy. This event is for people of all ages and galaxies (Aliens welcome!).
Alan hosts a weekly show on KVMR called Soundings where he takes a look at science and the natural world.Suggested Donation $10 (to help support our Treks Program)

Fascinated by Raptors? Then don’t miss this evening event with Audubon birder Jay Sheets and some folks from Wildlife Rehab and Release who will bring a few of their winged friends to meet with us. Enjoy an evening up close to these amazing and very intelligent birds. Find out what makes them so special (and so suited to their jobs)!
